~ She sat on the lounge adjusting a shoe on her foot when she heard the door downstairs open, then close. Sitting still listening as his footsteps ascended the stairs, the sound became prominent to her ears as he walked closer. The door opened to the room where she sat and immediately his scent filled the room. Deeply she inhaled while hoping it wasn’t obvious. He leaned his body against the door frame, and while the silence invaded time, she thought of the last time she saw him and what he said.
Slowly her body turned toward him. The light from the hallway found her eyes and focused on them. Softly she spoke while gazing upon him and said, “Enlighten me.” ~
